35 years after its official premiere, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s best-know musical received a major overhaul at his home place – with a revised production featuring some different sets and other modifications. ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ announces full new cast for its London return

The show will be returning to its birthplace 35 years after is world premiere, with a cast that is entirely new for the first time in its London history. Led by critically acclaimed performer Killian Donnelly in the title role, the main cast will be completed by Rhys Withfield (who had also played Raoul in the last UK tour) and Lucy St Louis as Christine, whose previous credits include several West End shows like Beatiful, Motown and Book of Mormon.

Both the uncertainty of social distancing and the delicate financial situation regional theatres are experiencing right now have forced producers to shut down the show until further notice. All the scheduled venues will not accomodate the musical, which is however intended to restart a new tour when both theatres and audiences can go back to normality.
