Agatha Christie’s ‘The Mousetrap’ to celebrate its 70th anniversary with a new tour

The world’s most famous live whodunnit will hit the road by the end of the year, beginning a tour that will extend throughout 2023 and 2024 and that will include every major city and town in both the UK and Ireland. Currently holding the record of the longest-running play, this new production will start at the very place where it was first played back in the 50s before moving to the West End.

El whodunnit más famoso del mundo se lanzará a la carretera a finales de año, iniciando un tour que se extenderá durante 2023 y 2024 y que incluirá todas las ciudades principales de Reino Unido e Irlanda. The show will return after being presented at the Chichester Festival Theatre last summer, with well-renowned actors Julian Ovenden and Gina Beck reprising the main roles. Written by the iconic creative duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, the musical tells the strong love tale between a plantation owner and a nurse on a remote island during World War II. Following its London run, the production will travel across Ireland and the UK, including stops such as Dublin, Glasgow and Canterbury, among others.

El espectáculo regresará tras su presentación en el Festival de Teatro de Chichester el pasado verano, con los reconocidos actores Julian Ovenden y Gina Beck de nuevo en los papeles principales. The award-winning show will get back on the road next spring, followed by its succesful 2018/19 itinerary production. Directed and coreographed by Nick Winston, the musical will be played all around the country, with venues including the Edinburgh Playhouse, the Cardiff New Theatre and the Blackpool Opera House.

Peter James’s best-selling novel to premiere as a play at the Glasgow Theatre Royal

The acclaimed novelist will have one more of his renowned crime stories turned into a stage version in the next year’s spring. The play, which has been adapted by celebrated dramaturg Shaun McKenna, brings back the famous character of Detective Roy Grace, who will have to protect the witness of a vicious killing, as well as his family. The show will be directed by Olivier Award winner Ian Talbolt, whose previous  credits include The Mousetrap,Anything Goes, Priscilla Queen of the Desert or Million Dollar Quartet.

El aclamado novelista tendrá otra de sus famosas tramas criminales adaptada para el teatro en primavera del próximo año. La obra, escrita por el alabado dramaturgo Shaun McKenna, recupera al popular personaje Roy Grace, un detective que tendrá que proteger al único testigo de un horrendo asesinato, además de a su familia. El montaje estará dirigido por el ganador del Premio Olivier Ian Talbolt, cuyos créditos anteriores incluyen La Ratonera, Anything Goes, Priscilla, Reina Del Desierto o Million Dollar Quartet.
