The iconic musical will travel across the nation from mid-September – its run to be extended throughout 2021. With its cast to be announced in due time, the show’s itinerary will include Bristol, Blackpool and Edinburgh, among other cities – with further venues to be confirmed. Directed and choreographed by Olivier and Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw, the show tells the frentic story of three young singers who will be blessed (and cursed) with fame and success in the music industry.

And I’m telling you, you’re gonna love it! Or at least, you’ll have the chance to judge by yourself, because the West End production of the iconic musical Dreamgirls will be touring around the country in just a few months. Opening at the Bristol Hippodrome in mid-September, the production’s itinerary will include Milton Keynes, Blackpool, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Birmingham and will extend its run throughout 2021, with further venues still to be confirmed.

Directed and choreographed by Olivier and Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Mean Girls, Disney’s Aladdin and Something Rotten!), the show tells the hectic story of young singers Effie, Lorrell and Deena, whose remarkable musical talent will take them on a frantic ride to the top of showbusiness. However, they will soon find that fame and success are often accompanied by a darker side, where the ruthless side of the music industry will test their friendship to the very limit.

With book and lyrics by Tom Eyen and music by Henry Krieger, Dreamgirls had its West End premiere December 2016 at London’s Savoy Theatre, 35 years after its original Broadway opening – which went on to receive six Tony Awards as well as two Grammys for Best Musical Album and Best Vocal Performance. In 2006, the show was adapted into a feature film starring Jennifer Hudson, Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, Loretta Devine and Eddie Murphy.

The cast for the UK tour of ‘Dreamgirls’ will be announced in due time. Tickets are already available on the following link.
